Researcher

Vitaly Shchukin received his PhD and Dr. Sci. (habilitation) degrees in Physics and Mathematics from the Abraham Ioffe Physical Technical Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences, St. Petersburg, in 1987 and 1999, respectively. He has served as Senior Visiting Scientist at the Technische Universitaet Berlin and gained industry experience at NL-Nanosemiconductor GmbH (Innolume) and PBC Lasers as Principal Scientist. Currently, he is Chief Scientific Officer at VI Systems GmbH and co-inventor of its core technology. His research focuses on physical processes in the epitaxy of nanostructures and the development of advanced optoelectronic and nanophotonic devices. Dr. Shchukin is the recipient of the Russian State Prize for Science and Technology (2001) and the Abraham Ioffe Prize (1999, 2002). He is a co-author of more than 250 refereed journal and conference papers, holds 30 patents, and has published a monograph.

Within the SpinDataCom project, Vitaly Shchukin contributes his expertise in laser dynamics theory, providing strong theoretical support for the project’s research and design activities.
